BAE Systems Electronic Solutions

The Electronic Systems (ES) sector spans the commercial and defence electronics markets with a broad portfolio of mission-critical electronic systems, including flight and engine controls; electronic warfare and night vision systems; surveillance and reconnaissance sensors; secure networked communications equipment; and power-and energy-management systems.

ES employs approximately 13,000 people globally, with engineering and manufacturing functions primarily in the United Kingdom and United States.

Electronic Systems products are organized in six business areas and supported by an advanced technology group.

Commercial Aircraft Solutions

Produces fly-by-wire flight controls; full authority digital engine controls; cockpit controls; head up displays; cabin management systems; and power management systems for some of the world’s most prominent commercial aircraft.

Communications & Control Solutions

Provides secure, networked communications and navigation systems; radio frequency communication and data links; aircraft digital flight control and display systems; advanced human-machine interfaces; enhanced situational awareness systems; and mission critical avionics.

General Dynamics

General Dynamics UK is a leading prime contractor and complex systems integrator working in partnership with government, military and private companies around the world.

General Dynamics UK has more than 50 years experience in technical leadership, manufacturing expertise and prime contract management skills to deliver C4I communications solutions, Armoured Fighting Vehicle (AFV) capability and avionics systems.

General Dynamics UK delivers avionics equipment used in rotary and fixed wing platforms, highly integrated mission and video management systems, flexible stores management systems, data link processing and video and data recorders for UK and international customers. The Company has more than 50 years’ experience providing advanced electronic solutions for the air, maritime and land markets.”

Leonardo Helicopters

Leonardo’s Helicopter Division performs research, design, development, production, customer support and marketing of the company’s extensive range of modern helicopters for commercial, public service, and security and defence applications.

Current production covers all the main helicopter weight categories, from the 1.8 tonne single-engine to the 16 tonne three-engine. The plants, concentrated in Italy, the United Kingdom, Poland and the United States, are fully integrated and are organised around ‘centres of excellence’ that support the final assembly lines.

The Division is able to manage the entire helicopter development and production cycle.

From 1 January 2016, the Helicopter Division has absorbed the activities of Agusta Westland.

Leonardo Electronics Division is the consolidation of a wide range of businesses that are recognised as technological leaders in the aerospace domain, providing sensing, communications, platform protection and mission management capabilities.
